Description:
Pink paper poster for the 1955 Castle Hill Concert series at the Richard T. Crane, Jr. Memorial Reservation of the Trustees of Reservations in Ispwich, Massachusetts. The performances featured a range of entertainment, including a Haitian dance group, the New York Philharmonic, and Louis Armstrong (1901-1971). The concert series was directed by S.M.L Barlow (1892-1982) and was sponsored by the Castle Hill Foundation. Established in 1951, the Castle Hill Foundation was a group separate from the Trustees of Reservations that was established to guarantee the continued existence of the Castle Hill property.
