Blueprint, annotated, by Fletcher Steele (1885-1971).Additional information on item: drawn by Hunter, drawing #251-149; Fletcher Steele was a landscape architect who did the majority of his work in private gardens. One of his few extant commissions is at Naumkeag in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, a summer home that was built for Joseph Hodges Choate (1832-1917) and inherited by Choate's daughter, Mabel Choate (1870-1958). Steele designed gardens at Naumkeag for Mabel Choate from 1926 to 1958.
