Description: Typed correspondence from Edward Bolster to Keith Morgan on letterhead from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Bolster provides Morgan with some history about the location of Cherry Hill in Canton, Massachusetts. Morgan, an art and architecture historian, went on to write an article titled, "Cherry Hill: Its architecture and landscape," that was published by the Trustees of Reservations in 1991. Bolster was the president of the Canton Historical Society at the time of correspondence. Cherry Hill was purchased by the grandfather of Eleanor Cabot Bradley (1893-1990) in 1865. As it passed through the Cabot family, additional acreage was acquired and a house was built on the property. Bradley inherited Cherry Hill in 1945 and began living there fulltime with her husband, Ralph Bradley (1888-1970) in 1962. Together with caretaker Reg Harris, the Bradleys developed the estate to include a woodland walk, horticultural vignettes, and a Sunken Camellia House. Cherry Hill was acquired by The Trustees in 1991, when it was renamed the Eleanor Cabot Bradley Estate.
