Description: Powisset Farm is a 109-acre property in Dover, Massachusetts. With a history of agricultural use dating back over 300 years, Powisset farm is an invaluable cultural resource. The landscape features hayfields, pastures, cultivated ground and a number of farm buildings. In 1923, Miss Amelia Peabody (1890-1894) of Boston purchased a house just north of the farm. Over the next 60 years, she would add additional lots to her land holdings and under her leadership; Powisset Farm became known for its livestock, specifically Hereford Cattle and Yorkshire pigs. The land was transferred to The Trustees after her death.
